When I tell people I’m vegan, they often say, “I could never do it. No way could I give up pizza.” Trust me, I haven’t given up pizza. We have a lot of vegan pizza options in town, with pies often made with cauliflower dough and topped with vegan cheeses. There was a time not that long ago when vegan cheeses meant glops of something repulsive that had the texture and taste of an unmeltable chunk of plastic that when masticated vigorously might, with luck, start to disintegrate into powder in your mouth. Not anymore. Vegan cheeses these days, particularly from a company in Austin called Rebel, will leave you speechless. The only all vegan pizza joint I know of in Houston is a little spot next to HCC in Midtown called Meek’s Pizza (1113 Holman). Open every day from 11-11, Meek’s serves up some amazing pies. We started our meal off with an order of oyster mushroom “wangs,” featuring a basket of baked ‘shrooms served with a side of exceptional vegan ranch punctuated with fresh dill, Italian parsley, and chives. They have several pizza options, and we went with the most expensive of all, the 33.99 X-Large 16” stuffed crust “Meathead Pizza,” which features a perfect crust that is just the right mix of crunchy and chewy topped with seitan pepperoni, beyond sausage, impossible burger, and the store’s amazing cashew cheese. The crust, too, is loaded with this cheese. When we return, we’ll just go with a regular crust instead of the stuffed version—it really was too much of a good thing. Cheese (vegan, of course) was basically coming out of our ears. Take a look at the crust in the picture and imagine it being ready to gush out rivers of mozza. But even though the crust was huge, it tasted fantastic. Meek’s does a few other tasty sounding varieties, and you can build your own as well. And if you have tree nut allergies, they can use a coconut cheese instead of the cashew variety.

The pizza is SEASONED, and the dough is soft and fresh! The wangz could've been cooked a little longer and should come with a complimentary sauce or at least hot sauce. The ranch was bomb too but expensive for the tiny container.

I placed an office order for lunch, my coworkers had never had vegan healthy options for pizza, so today was their first time trying vegan option pizza, stuffed bell peppers, calzone, wangz, vegan ranch, desserts and drinks.The staff was a very pleasant and kind and exceptionally helpful. The customer service was awesome, I had a big order to go and they kept me up-to-date as when it would be ready. My coworkers were very shocked of the flavorful and healthy options from our order and will definitely be going for themselves in the future. As you can see from the pictures, not very much was left. We forgot to the pictures before eating, so we captured what we had left because it was to delicious to think of anything at the time but stuffing our face with goodness. This is the best pizza Houston has to offer! We bought a Meeks meat lover style pizza on the way to IKEA. We ate it by the time we got to IKEA. Once we left, we went back for a second round of pizza! The steak was impressive in taste and in how full you get! I wish there was a MEEK's closer to the south beltway

Meek's Vegan Pizza is our cherished, must-do tradition! Every time in Houston, we grab an XL pizza to savor and take back to Boston – it's truly beyond good. We were utterly blown away by their new, impeccably spotless, and genuinely welcoming location. We even had the pleasure of meeting owner Meek, and followed his fantastic recommendation for "Steak" night. The vegan "steak" and pasta dish captivated us; the food was, as always, outstanding. Our server, Bryant, elevated our entire experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, his hospitality was second to none, and the service was, without a doubt, beyond top-tier. Thank you, Meek's Vegan Pizza, for consistently delivering phenomenal, unforgettable dining!

When I went in today the gentleman that was sitting there greeted me and helped me with the menu and understanding of it which is helpful because you never know if the person walking in is new to vegan food or just trying it out. So that was helpful for me. I ordered the special that came with a drink and personal pan pizza. When it came out it smelled really good but the taste was better than expected. I enjoyed the talk with the owner as well! Oh and the ranch taste better than regular ranch!!

I'm not vegan, but my partner is. We tried an extra large (vegan) meat lover's pizza near Valentine's Day as a little treat. She enjoyed it, comparing it to pizza as she remembered from places like Domino's. For my part, you could have told me this was any tavern pie or local pizza shop and I would have believed it. Solid pizza. It's more expensive than the non-vegan variety, but it's worth it to share in an actually good vegan pizza with my partner.
